SERVICING HUNTER REGION, NEWCASTLE, CENTRAL COAST, CANBERRA
From emergency response to specialist cleaning, here’s the full range of what Hunter Building Restoration handles — and how we approach each one.
A pre-purchase inspection from Hunter Building Restoration goes beyond a standard building inspection. We’re looking specifically for the kinds of issues that turn into restoration jobs down the track — moisture problems, hidden mould, water damage, drainage faults, and the structural signs that something’s not right. You’ll get a clear written report with photos, our honest assessment, and rough estimates for any work that’d need doing.
Water damage doesn’t wait, and neither do we. Burst pipes, leaks, storm ingress, overflows — whatever the cause, we respond fast, extract the water, dry the structure properly, and restore the affected areas. We use commercial-grade drying equipment because anything less risks mould taking hold underneath what looks like a fixed problem.
Mould is almost always a symptom of something else — a moisture source that needs to be found and fixed. We treat both. Surface treatment alone is a short-term fix, and we won’t do half a job. Our process identifies the cause, contains the affected area, removes the contamination properly, and addresses the underlying moisture issue so it doesn’t come back.
Fire damage is rarely just about what burned. Smoke, soot, and odour penetrate everything they touch — sometimes in places you wouldn’t think to look. We handle the full recovery, from securing the property and clearing the structural damage right through to cleaning contents, neutralising odours, and restoring the property to a livable condition.
Storms in the Hunter can do a lot of damage in a short time — flooding, roof failures, fallen trees, structural damage. We respond to storm callouts quickly, make the property safe (tarping, board-up, water removal), and then move into the proper restoration phase. Insurance work is a regular part of what we do, and we handle the documentation side carefully so claims go smoothly.
When water, fire, or smoke damages a property, your belongings are part of the loss too. A lot of items that look ruined can actually be restored — and often it’s cheaper than replacement, and matters more to you anyway. We assess what can be saved, handle the restoration on-site or off-site as needed, and return items to you in proper condition.
Some jobs need to start with a clean slate. Whether it’s post-flood debris, a deceased estate, a hoarded property, or just years of accumulation that needs to go, we handle the heavy lifting and safe disposal. We sort what can be salvaged, recycled, or donated where possible, and dispose of the rest properly.
Some cleaning jobs need more than a standard service can deliver. Post-restoration deep cleans, end-of-tenancy turnarounds, pre-sale property prep, post-renovation cleanups — we bring commercial-grade equipment and a methodical approach to get a property back to a properly clean standard.
A lot of the work we do flows through insurance claims — water damage, fire, storm, flood. We’re set up for it. Detailed documentation, photo records, structured reporting, and direct liaison with assessors and insurers where needed. You focus on getting your property and life back to normal; we’ll handle the paperwork side properly.
Most jobs aren’t textbook. If you’re not sure how to describe what’s going on, that’s fine — give us a call or send through some photos and we’ll work it out together. Free quotes, no pressure.
